Ok this video is on u substitution with regard to cosign applications or functions let’s get started press second alpha to put the i n d e x in here and then you press alpha to put the eight and the open and closed parenthesis press enter and you’re into my menu. I’m going to go to the bottom of the menu so I’m going to go up with the cursor which goes to the bottom here u substitution and I’m going to enter the function you have to press alpha before you enter any function in my entry lines there in my programs and were going to go five times x times cosign three times x squared close off the parenthesis I always show you what you’ve entered in case you’ve made a mistake but that’s correct press ok an integral like this you always take any constant and put it to the outside so you got to re write this you rewrite it like this and take the x and put it over to the dx remember where the x dx is for just a second here u equals three x squared inside the parenthesis inside the cosign there and du equals six x dx you always bring the six over and divide the du by six and leave the x you’ll notice this x dx is the same as the one I just should you before that makes it a u substitution if it didn’t have that of course I ask you that I check that for you and notice that x equals x so i’m going to say yes and here you go through all the calculations write all this down on your paper here and here is the answer five over six times sign of three times x squared plus c.
