Critical Points Solved on TI-89 Calculator.
Full Video Transcript
This is a calculus calculator program or app for critical points relating to graphing by hand and using the TI 89 titanium calculator.
To get to my main menu press 2nd alpha to enter the letters ind e x and then press alpha again to enter the eight and the open and closed parenthesis. Press enter and you’re into my menu. You have many choices in this menu, you see concavity cosine of a times x. Here’s critical points cross product, curl, definite integrals, definition of a derivative, just difference quotient.
Well, we’re gonna do critical points right now which is involved with graphing by hand a function. I tell you to start a graph on your paper such as this and we’re going to enter the function you have to. Press alpha before you enter any of variables in this calculus calculator program.
And let’s see what are we going to enter here, thirty-two times x squared minus X to the fourth power. I show you what you’ve entered, you can change it if you want, and then here’s the menu of what you can do with graphing by hand and flexion point all the necessary things to graph that function by hand.
We want critical points, all the critical points. You write everything on your paper here for this calculus calculator program on the TI 89 and you’ll come up with the critical numbers.
Critical numbers are not critical points there on the x-axis they show you where the maximum and minimum for the original function. To get the y-value I show you for each one, critical point number, two critical point number, three.
Pretty neat huh? EveryStepCalculus.com check out my site, check out my programs and pass calculus.
